Palm Canyon Food Tour - 2-28-15

A great day for tasting down in Palm Springs.
Six of our neighbors and me...checking out new restaurants.

Our stops were:  Kaiser Grille for a Prime Rib Slider, Village Pub for a Baja Shrimp Taco,
Tutti Frutti for a date shake & samples, Olive A'Sudden for some great balsamics & olive oils, Brandini Toffee for their homemade toffee, Bill's Pizza for artichoke & feta cheese pizza, and onto Lulu's Bistro for a chocolate mousse cake.
Yum, yum!

Started the month off with a hike to the
Murray Canyon in Palm Springs.

February always seems to be our eating out month.
Was introduced to two new restaurants at the Thursday Chef's Table...
Clementine's 2-05 and Wilma & Freida's 2-12, both on El Paseo.
 
Invited to dinner at Sally & Alan's 2-9, dinner @ Lucille's on 2-21,
dinner @ Beate's on 2-23,
birthday celebration dinner out with Karen, Carolyn & Allan on 2-24,
and lots of Happy Hours. 
Weight Watchers here I come!
 
 
 
 

Modernism Week - Feb 13-18

Betsey & Bonne arrive from wintry Bridgewater, VA & Nashville, TN.
Starting our visit sippin' champagne.
 ...and we're off to Palm Springs...
 ...for the Architectural Double Decker Bus Tour.
 
 Many homes & buildings to see.
 Some iconic homes in the Movie Colony.
Dinah Shore's home which has been purchased by Leonardo DiCaprio.
 
 Elvis & Priscilla's Honeymoon Cottage.
 A little bit of the Swiss influence on modern architecture.
   Ole Blue Eyes' home.
 One of my favorites...love the landscaping.
  Afterwards, a stop at the Azul Bar in Palm Springs.
 Another day...watching the Riverside Co. Fair parade in Indio.


We kept busy...off to the Living Desert.
