Back to West Virginia in June for my high school reunion at Lewisburg. Stopped on the way to see my college roomie, Judy, at Flat Top. Laughed lots.
Stayed at the General Lewis Inn...favorite spot to spend the nights in Lewisburg...
...two doors down the street from my old home...the parsonage. Oh my purple bedroom...I remember it well. Loved that house...so much character.
Couldn't wait to see Bonne...my best bud from high school. So many stories to tell...getting ready to go greet the other 65 year olds. (Oh...Bonne is still a youngin' here...only 64!)
The Friday night '60's Party'. Not too bad looking for older chicks, huh?
Betsey, Alice, Bonne, Deanna, and me
And, Deanna found Nathen, my high school boyfriend, to add to the picture.
The Class of 65...the ones that were brave enough to show up.
Back at the room...what were we gossiping about now! Just a little wine to go along with it.
At the picnic on Saturday...
Walter & his wife, Billy, Janet & Bonne...
In front of the ole LHS...which is no longer a school. We think it should be turned into a high end condo...we'd buy one.
At Joan's after the picnic...Deanna, Betsey, Lynn and me.
More group shots of us "mature ladies."
Patty, Joan, Alice, Betsey and Bonne (back row)
Ernie, Janet and Lynn in front.
(Thought I'd put our names in so I'll remember who we were in 10 years.)
And, here's Bonne with the Gibson sisters, Nancy Jo and Ellen (you know Ellen was a sophomore when we were seniors.) Yes, she is the young one of the group. Master twirler, you know.
Sunday brunch on the porch...hanging with Bonne and Gary...of course, Gary is taking the picture.
Over to Ellen's house...one of many historic homes in Lewisburg. Her new digs.
Cocktails were in order..."Girls just want to drink wine!" Seeing all of those old people makes one really want to drink...(oh...we're the old people.)
An outing to the new Smooth Ambler brewery...
...for a little tasting of the spirits. Oh...here's Gary! He was at the reunion.
Another outing with Ellen to Jim's drive-in for their hot dogs and root beers. Still the same. How I remember taking the group there after football games in my jeep with my portable record player blasting with the lastest 45's. Those were the days!
Yep...a great week-end in the old home town!
